Last week after the announcement that Steve Jobs was resigning from his role as CEO of Apple, there was the expected flurry of pundits claiming that the end was near for Apple and that you should sell your stocks before they crash. They’re back up now. Above the point they were before the announcement (basically back on track)
I think this is a valid point. Culture is very important in companies that are innovating. If you change the goal that your best employees were passionate about, you risk them not being passionate about the new vision. That can seriously hurt your ability to innovate and be a leader in your field.
Interesting piece about some of the successful activism efforts on the internet. As a student activist, this sort of look at the larger picture of how the internet has helped connect us is very inspiring
I’ve moved my blog out from Squarespace to Tumblr. When I originally moved to Squarespace, tumblr didn’t have some features that I was looking for but now it’s grown a fair bit and I have to say it is much easier to share content here than it was with SquareSpace. Hopefully this means I can put stuff out there more often.
I’ll keep an archive my old content somewhere since it appears almost impossible to move it here (it’s difficult to export from Squarespace and equally difficult to import to tumblr).
